  • What does my membership entail?
At Bayshore, we strive to meet the high healthcare standards of the elite individuals in the Tampa Bay Area. We offer unlimited office visits tailored to your specific needs, with each appointment scheduled for a full 60-minute time slot to ensure comprehensive and personalized care. Say goodbye to long wait times and hello to convenient telemedicine services, available for your convenience. You will have Dr. Shapiro's cell phone number, not a work line or an app. Dr. Shapiro's response time on average is <5min. There are no nurses or front desk members to intercept your call, everything will go directly to the doctor. We pride ourselves on providing exceptional medical attention and service to our valued members. Please note that our membership fee does not include labs and imaging services, but we offer cash prices at our affiliated lab and imaging sites. Furthermore, you have the option to utilize your insurance for coverage of labs, imaging, and other related services. Additionally, we do not provide prenatal care, chronic controlled substances, or chronic pain management medications such as opioids and benzodiazepines.
  • What is concierge medicine?
Concierge medicine, also known as membership-based or retainer medicine, is a type of medical practice that offers a more personalized and convenient healthcare experience. In this model, patients pay an annual or monthly fee to their doctor for access to a range of specialized services and benefits, including longer appointment times, 24/7 access to the office staff, and a dedicated care team. Concierge medicine providers typically limit the number of patients they see, allowing for more individualized attention and better continuity of care. By removing the constraints of insurance-based reimbursement, doctors in concierge practices can focus on providing high-quality care that is tailored to each patient's unique needs and preferences. Overall, concierge medicine offers patients a more personalized and proactive approach to healthcare, with a focus on prevention and wellness. It is an ideal choice for those who value convenience, individualized attention, and comprehensive care.
  • What distinguishes Bayshore's premium concierge medicine from the rest?
At our practice, we provide an exclusive level of care that sets us apart from traditional health care systems. Our doctors have the luxury of having a limited number of patients to provide you with personalized, top-tier medical attention. Unlike typical practices, we don't let insurance companies dictate your care, and we pride ourselves on building strong relationships with each of our patients. With an emphasis on individualized attention, our appointment times are carefully scheduled for 60 minutes, allowing for a comprehensive evaluation and discussion of your health goals. Our staff is dedicated to meeting your needs, and our office ambiance is thoughtfully designed to provide comfort and relaxation. Join us, and experience the highest standard of medical care that caters to your unique needs.
  • Is there a fee for each doctor visit?
No! As a member of our esteemed concierge practice, you will enjoy access to our physicians through an unlimited number of in-person visits, phone calls, text messages, and emails - all for a single, all-inclusive annual fee. And unlike traditional healthcare models, you will never be subjected to the burden of copayments.
  • Can this replace my health insurance?
It's important to note that our concierge medicine service is NOT a replacement for health insurance. We strongly advise our patients to maintain their health insurance coverage for expenses such as hospitalizations, emergency room visits, specialist visits, medications, and diagnostic tests.
  • May I schedule a consultation with the physician before joining the practice?
Certainly, we would be happy to arrange a bidirectional meet and greet upon request. This is an opportunity for you to get to know your physician on a personal level and discuss your expectations for care, ensuring that we are the perfect match for your needs. Please note that this meeting is strictly for compatibility purposes and no medical services will be provided.
  • What insurance does the practice accept?
None! It's important to note that if you have an HMO, Tricare, or Medicaid, we won't be able to see you because we're unable to call in labs or imaging or referrals. We wish we could, but those specific insurers won't allow us to do so.
  • Do you offer medical services for children?
Absolutely! Bayshore Concierge Medicine is an exclusive primary care practice catering to individuals aged 12 and above.
  • What payment options are available?
We accept all major credit cards, FSA and HSA. Payments can be made monthly, quarterly, or annually. There is a three month nonrefundable minimum.
  • Is it possible to have a one-time executive physical at your practice?
We prioritize offering you and your family exceptional preventive healthcare, and we believe building a robust personal relationship is key to achieving this goal. Therefore, a single office visit is not sufficient to establish this relationship.
  • How long are the appointments with the doctor?
Your initial appointment will be a comprehensive 120 minute session, as we strive to thoroughly understand your unique healthcare needs. Once your personalized care plan is established, your subsequent appointments will be scheduled for 60 minutes in duration, ensuring ample time for any necessary treatment and follow-up. In cases where your health concerns can be resolved via telemedicine or a simple phone consultation, we are happy to offer those options as well.
  • Do you offer in-office medication dispensing?
Currently, we do not offer in-office medication dispensing. However, we are working towards offering this service in the future.
  • Is telemedicine an option for appointments
We do offer telemedicine services for your convenience, but please note that initial and annual physical exams must be done in person. Depending on the nature of the medical issue, subsequent appointments may be conducted virtually. However, some symptoms may require an in-person examination to properly assess and diagnose, as a thorough physical examination by the doctor may be necessary.
  • How do I cancel my membership?
Should you choose to discontinue your membership, you may cancel it at any time by submitting a written notice 30 days prior to the effective date. However, please keep in mind that the first 90 days of membership are nonrefundable.
